Spring 2017 Grants Awarded

The Grace Foundation of Destin Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that $32,500 in Grants were awarded for the Spring 2017 Grant cycle.

There were five Grants awarded for local, regional, and international initiatives.

Asha Mission Society

The grant funds will be used for beginning of the year school expenses. These expenses include annual registration fees, books, bookbags, school supplies, uniforms, shoes and socks.

Prior to coming to Asha, most of the children have never been to school and are illiterate. Providing them with an education will enable them to have more options to provide for their future families.

Asha Mission serves the regions in New Delhi and West Bengal and currently serves 83 children

Evergreen Lutheran Church

The grant will be used to help with the tuition for the Lutheran School which serves "poverty" income families in Detroit who cannot afford tuition.  This is the last Lutheran parochial school remaining in Detroit.  It will also be used for on-going maintenance and upkeep of the school.

Eastern European Mission Network

The grant will be used for funding for the initial phases of development for the first Learning Center in Saldus, Latvia.   There are currently Learning Centers in Eastern and Central Europe specifically for Russian Lutheran Pastors, and in the Ukraine and Austria.
